In order to encourage primary and secondary school students in the greater Kansas City area to develop stronger awareness of public service and to participate actively in community service, the Kansas City Chinese American Association (KCCAA) has established an annual KCCAA Community Service Award.
In 2012, the award categories will be as follows: first place award: $300; second place award $200; third place award: $100.
This award may be offered to any primary or secondary school student in the greater Kansas City area and any qualified student may apply. Please submit applications to kccaa.award@gmail.com by January 12, 2012.

Awards Ceremony at 12:30pm. Winners will be recognized during our gala in Yardley Hall.

Established in September 2011, KCCAA Youth Committee is making a difference in our community through their remarkable fund-raising and community services. The ceremony will commemorate Chinese settlement in the U.S.
for the past 100 years. It will also create a new arts garden by
combining Eastern and Western culture for international culture exchange, bring people together, and educating the generations to come.

On Oct. 15, more than 20 members of the newly-founded KCCAA Youth Committee worked side-by-side with KCCAA volunteers, and helped raise $400 for the KC Friendship School in Zhaanxi China. More than 300 people came to the annual passport event organized by KCCAA at the Indian Creek Community Church in Olathe Kansas. on behalf of all the children and teachers at the KC Friendship School, we would like to thank all the people who supported us for this great cause.
